Plan Your Bridal Beauty Routine

26th February 2020

Feel Fabulous On Your Wedding Day

You want to look like the most beautiful version of yourself on your wedding day. What better way to do that than planning out a beauty routine in the months leading up to your wedding day. Try not to neglect one of the most important tasks of all – getting yourself looking and feeling great in preparation for one of the biggest days of your life.

12 months before

♥ Drink -Aim to drink 6-8 glasses of water per day. Drinking enough water is a key element for maintaining your health and general well-being, helps keep your skin looking vibrant and younger, aids digestion, improves your concentration and helps to remove toxins from your body.

♥ Skin – Start a good cleansing and moisturising daily routine, and consider making appointments for monthly facials. We suggest The Bridal Skincare Package. This can be adapted and flexible to your skins needs as stress can have a negative effect on you and your skin over the next few months

Manicure – As soon as you get engaged, everyone is going to ask to see your ring. Keep those nails and hands primed and pretty with regular manicures. This is also your chance to experiment with colours.

♥ Pedicure – You may be wearing your Hunter’s or Converse under that dream dress but if you’re not, and your feet or toes are on show, then treat your feet to a pedicure once a month and start applying a good moisturising foot cream at bedtime.

♥ Botox – Consider smoothing crow’s feet or forehead lines with Botox. Botox is an injectable that paralyses the muscle and helps iron out wrinkles, it can take a few days to kick in and only lasts about six months so coming in for a trial to see how it wears on you eight months before is a smart idea.  That way, if you like your experience, you’ll know where to get it a month before your wedding day.

Book appointments NOW for your big day beauty treatments such as waxing, lash tint, nails etc. Avoid hearing those disappointing words of ‘sorry we’re fully booked’

♥ Make-up – If you’re thinking of booking a professional artist, then now is the time to book. Discuss with us any skin conditions or allergies you may have before meeting for the trial so we can prepare and advise.  Don’t be afraid to voice when you don’t like something, that’s the point of the trial: we want you to try out as many different looks as you can so you’re happy with your appearance! After all, pictures are forever.

♥ Hair Removal – That little peach fuzz just above your upper lip may not seem like a big deal in your everyday life, but you don’t want it showing up in wedding photos. Start getting monthly waxes for best results.

♥ Find that balance – Whilst your wedding is your favourite topic of conversation and consumes all of your spare time, try not to neglect yourself, your fiancé, family and friends.  Start to set one day/night a week for some non-wedding fun or quiet time to regroup.

♥ Get smooth skin – Have a problem spot like dry elbows? Our full body scrub booked regularly will restore and balance the skin, giving you a brighter and more youthful appearance as well as providing you with a deep exfoliation.

Dry brushing -Start dry brushing before a shower as it will help to detoxify by increasing blood circulation and promoting lymph flow/drainage. Dry brushing unclogs pores in the exfoliation process. It also stimulates your nervous system.

Eyebrows -Get your brows shaped. If you want natural looking, full brows, just get them shaped so they suit your face shape. If you like how they are done then you’ll want to go back the week of your wedding. If you didn’t like the shape or change your mind, you’ll still have time for them to grow back in for your wedding day.

♥ Sleep – Eye bags on your wedding day are not a good look!  Aim to get 8 hours of sleep per day and don’t go too close to your eyes with face creams as this can result in puffiness and can cause milia spots. Invest in a good eye cream. For that extra treat we suggest our Everything Eyes Package.

♥ To tan or not to tan – If you are new to the world of fake tanning then experiment now, not nearer the day!  Tinted moisturisers take a while to build up a colour so start this now. If you are considering a professional fake tan, try it out for your hen-do – does it streak? Does the colour look natural? How does it smell on your skin?  Tip: Don’t forget to thoroughly exfoliate the day before.

2 weeks before

♥ Schedule your final facial – We recommend the glycolic peel and reveal facial treatment as it helps remove dead skin cells, smoothes skin, balances the complexion, while helping to erase sun damage, uneven skin tone, post-acne scarring and wrinkles. This will provide a great boost before your special day.

♥ Confirm big day beauty appointments.

♥ If you’re feeling the pressure, count to three and breeeeathe!

1 week before

You will be visiting our beauty salon on more than one occasion this week and we will have organised the order of your appointments for you.

♥ First appointment – This is where attention to detail will show so let’s get things underway for you with an appointment for all your waxing needs, after all this will take you through the next three to six weeks so it’s the ideal hair removal option for your wedding day and honeymoon.

♥ Second appointment – We recommend our Final Touches Package incorporating a deluxe pedicure and manicure and an eyebrow and eyelash tint as these small details can make a big difference on the day. Why not add in a lash lift for that extra va va voom.

♥ Third appointment – Your fiancé and you will be booked in for our New You Relaxation Package. Every bride and groom should invest in a pre-wedding massage. Even the most chilled out couples can get overwhelmed and stressed in the lead up to their big day, and a full body massage will not only relieve all that tension it will leave you looking and feeling more happy and relaxed on your wedding day. It could also improve your posture for the wedding photos too.

on the day

♥ Relax – relax in a luxuriously fragrant bath. Thoroughly cleanse, tone and moisturise your face and stick to the make-up routine you’ve rehearsed. Wear a front-opening shirt when your make-up is being done so you don’t have to pull anything over your head, which could smudge it.

♥ Bridesmaids – Make sure your bridesmaids know that one of their duties is to be on make-up watch, has your mascara smudged? Has your lipstick faded?

♥ Hands – apply a nail oil or hand cream on the morning of your wedding to keep everything in tip top condition.

♥ Last but not least is applying perfume. This should be the last thing you do before you leave your bridal suite. Spritz perfume on your pulse points or in your hair if you want a more subtle effect and take time to enjoy it all and say “I do”
